The White House announced that on Friday, March 26, Harris will be taking a trip to New Haven, where she is expected to be joined by U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro and Connecticut Congress members Jahana Hayes and Joe Courtney to discuss the relief package and its potential impact on the state.
No additional information about the visit was immediately released by the White House.
“I am excited to hear that Vice President Kamala Harris is coming to New Haven to join Congresswomen DeLauro and Hayes," New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker said in a statement.
“This is critical in emphasizing the importance of the American Rescue Plan, and how our leaders at the federal government are working tirelessly to help those who are struggling, especially in our community.”
Harris’ visit to the Nutmeg State is coming weeks after First Lady Jill Biden and Education Secretary - and former Connecticut Health Commissioner - Miguel Cardona toured a school in Meriden to survey COVID-19 safety measures that have been put in place.
